Report: Indian Customers Colour Preferences For Their Car Is Changing
Gone are the days when the preferred colour choice of the car was white or silver. Customers are changing preferences with a broader colour taste.
Colours like Garnet Red, Dignity Brown, even the Avant-Garde Bronze are the taste of the Indian customer in today's car market. Maruti's longest waiting period of the Baleno is the Ray Blue shade reflecting the changing mindset of the customers.
Toyota's Garnet Red of the Innova Crysta is the strongest demand from the customers in India among all Asian markets. The change in taste is attributed to the changing lifestyle preferences in the country.
Also, there is a sense of differentiation given that most of the fleet operators and cabs prefer the white or the silver as their choice of colours. The age profile is also a reason for the change in choice, younger buyers prefer premium colours compared to white or silver which gives them a unique identity.
Maruti's Vitara Brezza has the dual tone colour option and nearly 23 percent of sales from the SUV are the dual tone choice. Customers are familiar and exposed to global lifestyle and that reflects the preferences of colours for their cars.
