Hyundai Tucson Launch Date For India Revealed — Let The Festivities Begin
The much-awaited SUV from Hyundai will be launched in India on October 24, 2016, ahead of the festival season. The premium crossover-SUV will go on sale before Diwali, this will allow Hyundai to cash in on the festive mood in the country.
Hyundai's launch of the Tucson comes close on the heels of it being showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, where the South Korean automaker said it would launch the SUV in 2016. The Hyundai Tucson is no stranger to India, it was launched back in 2004 globally, post which the company brought the first generation to India in 2005.
The Tucson was a good success for five years before the sales started to dwindle for Hyundai and had to be pulled out from sales. With the growing demand for SUV in the country, Hyundai is bringing the Tucson at the right time.
The third-generation Hyundai Tucson will be positioned between the Creta and the Santa Fe SUVs in the India. Hyundai has built the new-generation Tucson based on the company's famed Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy.
Talking about the design of the Hyundai Tucson is its prominent styling of Hyundai design language. With smooth curves around the edges which are complemented with the imposing front grille with chrome slats, stylish swept back headlamps, a sporty bumper, and wrap-around LED taillights to accentuate the SUVish approach.
Moving to the interiors, with plush leather upholstery for the seats, leather-wrapped instrument panel, and steering wheel, the new Tucson is premium indeed. Features include a touchscreen infotainment system with AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, a top of the line music system with 8-speakers, electric lift gate, an optional panoramic sunroof and the likes of it.
Hyundai might power the Tucson with a 2.0-litre diesel mill in two states of tune developing 134bhp and the other with 181bhp. Both of which will be paired with an option of 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox seen in the Creta.
Once launched, the new Hyundai Tucson will rival the likes of Honda CR-V, Skoda Yeti, and SsangYong Rexton. The prices are expected to be in the range of Rs 20 - 25 lakh.
