Hyundai Delays The Launch Of Its Premium SUV Tucson In India
South Korean auto manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company has delayed the launch of its upcoming premium sports utility vehicle in India.
Earlier Hyundai has announced that it will launch its all-new 2016 Hyundai Tucson on 24th of October in India. But now the firm has postponed the launch.
Hyundai has not yet decided the postponed launch date for the Tucson in India. That means it's still unclear that when will the premium SUV will hit the Indian market.
The South Korean firm had stated that it will introduce new products every year in India to boost the sales and strengthen its roots as a premium carmaker in the country.
Hyundai has recently launched the sixth generation Elantra this year in the month of August. It was priced at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in the country.
The Tucson SUV will be slotted above the Creta. While revealing the Tucson in India, Senior VP of Hyundai Motors India, Rakesh Srivastava, said, the Tucson will bridge the gap between Creta and Santa Fe.
The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is powered by 2-liter petrol and 2-litre diesel engine option. Both the engines will come mated to a manual or automatic transmission.
The new Tucson will try to capture the rapidly expanding trend of larger SUV's in the country. This SUV will be a tough competitor to the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and higher segment SUV's manufactured by Ford and Chevrolet.
Hyundai is yet to reveal the price of its new premium SUV. But it is expected that the Tucson will be launched at a price tag of around Rs.15 to Rs 20 lakh across various trims.
