Love SUVs? Hyundai To Launch Two New Models In India
Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) revealed that it will be launching two more models in the sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. This is a new strategy from Hyundai, to make a name for itself in the premium automotive category. One of the models will be launched this year, and the other is expected to hit markets in two years.
The Managing Director of HMIL, YK Koo, said that Hyundai will be launching the Tuscan in October or November this year. He added that they will also be launching a sub-four metre SUV in couple of years.
The Tuscan will be powered by 2.0-litre diesel engine, imported from Korea. The new SUV will be placed in between the Creta and Santa FE. It will be priced in the range of Rs 25 to Rs 30 lakh. When asked about the specification of the postponed SUV, the Senior Vice President of HMIL, Rakesh Srivastava said that, it's still in the planning stage and not yet finalised.
HMIL aims at selling around 5,00,000 units in this domestic year, with Elantra taking its share of 200-250 units per month.
