Hyundai Sells 1 Million i20s Globally Since Launch

South Korean carmaker Hyundai has sold 1 million units of the i20 premium hatchback globally since its launch. Hyundai claims that the i20 is the most awarded car in India, winning as many as 34 awards since its launch.

The Hyundai i20 was launched back in the year 2008, and ever since its launch, the i20 has consistently been a best selling model for Hyundai. Since it's launch, the company has rolled out three models - the i20, the i20 Elite, and the i20 Active.

Commenting on the achievement, Y K Koo, the MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), said, "Reaching this historic mark is a testament to Hyundai i20's staying power and the global appeal of a vehicle that delivers sporty design, functionality and class-leading performance."

The Hyundai i20 competes with the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, and the Fiat Punto in the Indian market.
