Hyundai Motorsports’ New-Gen i20 R5 Programme Reaches Another Milestone
The Hyundai Motorsports' New Generation i20 R5 programme entered a new milestone. The team handed over the car to its first customer ahead of its competitive debut on the 2016 Tour de Corse - Rallye de France scheduled to be held later this month.
WRC3 favorite Fabio Andolfi will get to drive thecar that will be run by a small private Italian team. Some of the important Hyundai Motorsports staff were present to hand over the i20 R5 at the headquarters in Alzenau, Germany.
Team Principal Michel Nandan and Andrea Adamo who oversees the operations of the Customer Racing department, along with Luca Murdolo, team manager of the Italian team were present.
Fabio Andolfi is due to test the Hyundai i20 R5 ahead of his debut in the four-wheel drive vehicle and will be ably supported with a dedicated race engineer from Hyundai Motorsports.
In Spite of the booking order being full until early 2017, the Customer Racing department will continue testing the i20 R5 this week with Kevin Abbring and Seb Marshall as they prepare for their entry into Tour de Corse - Rallye de France.
