Hyundai Motor India Limited Rolls Out 7 Millionth Car
Hyundai created history by rolling out its 7 millionth car from its production line in its state-of-art facility in Sriperumbudur in Chennai
A top of trim white Hyundai Creta AT had the distinction of creating history in the Hyundai world of being the 7 millionth car to be rolled off the production lines.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) MD MrY.K Koo and VP production, MrGanesh Mani S. were at the driver's seat of the Creta when the SUV rolled out of the state-of-art facility in Sriperumbudur in Chennai on November 21, 2016.
The HMIL now has the distinction of being the second best position amongst its overseas peers, only after China in the Hyundai Motor Group.
The company is also the first auto manufacturer in India to achieve this milestone in record time within 18 years of its commercial operations. With this HMI is proving that it can cross the 1 million milestone at an average of every 18 months.
HMIL rolled out its first millionth car, a Santro in 2006 which was within 8 years of its commencement of commercial production in 1998. After which the production picked up momentum with the next millionth milestone being achieved within an average of 18-19 months.
The 5 millionth car was flagged off the production line in October 2013 by its ambassador Shahrukh Khan.
On the occasion, Mr. Y.K Koo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited said that HMIL has always set new benchmarks in terms of quality and customer delight by introducing new products with new technology and design to the Indian market, demonstrating superior manufacturing prowess.
He further added that their ‘Made In India' products have impressed global and Indian customers alike. They now have to move to realize the vision as announced during the 20th year foundation on May 6, 2016 of being the Market Leader, Great place to work, Most loved, and making Hyundai the most loved and trusted brand in India.
He further expressed on behalf of Hyundai his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the government of Tamil Nadu for their contribution in Hyundai's success.
HMIL has held the position of being the top exporter consistently for 12 years since 2004 with a volume of 24,64,723 tilldatewhile being instrumental in making the Chennai port vibrant.
They have also are playing a pivotal role in the economic development of Sriperumbudur region by contributing to the exchequer and generating employment opportunities both directly and indirectly.
