Hyundai, Mitsubishi Recalling Cars In The US; Is India Next In The List?
Hyundai and Mitsubishi are recalling over 72,000 cars in the US because of problems which can reportedly increase the risk of accidents.
Hyundai is recalling the 2013 model of Elantra because of the brake pedal stopper which can deteriorate. This condition can lead to brake light staying on or the gearbox shifting out of park without applying the brakes.
The South Korean auto major is recalling more than 64,500 cars affected by the brake pedal stopper issue.
Mitsubishi North America on the other hand, will recall the 2015-16 models of the Outlander Sport and 2016 models of Outlander and the Lancer. Both the models have been reported to have constant velocity gearbox that can cause a delay in acceleration in certain driving conditions. This recall will affect more than 82,000 vehicles.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed that Hyundai and Mitsubishi are recalling certain models of cars because of issues that can possibly increase the risk of accidents.
In India, Hyundai is selling the fifth-generation model and the sixth generation model is expected to be launched in the country later this year.
