Hyundai Motors will be introducing more value to its premium hatchback model in the Indian market. The Elite i20 will be offered with an optional Automatic Transmission (AT). The Hyundai Elite i20 with AT is most likely to be launched in India sometime during the festive season.
We expect the Elite i20 AT to be offered in a 1.2-litre petrol engine. The engine will produce 82bhp, along with 114Nm of torque, and will be mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. It is the standard automatic transmission that does the duty in Hyundai's Grand i10 model as well.
The Elite i20 AT will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Honda Jazz automatic variants in the premium hatchback segment. We xxpect the Hyundai Elite i20 AT to be priced approximately at Rs. 6.5 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
The automatic option is most likely to be available only in the top-end variant of the Elite i20. It is unclear if the South-Korean manufacturer will offer the automatic transmission in the mid-level variant. There is also a high possibility that Hyundai could offer a diesel automatic in the Elite i20.
