Bookings For 2016 Hyundai Elantra Begin Ahead Of Launch
The much-awaited 2016 Hyundai Elantra is slated for launch in early-September. Dealerships have now begun the bookings for the Elantra. At the moment, there is no official confirmation from Hyundai Motor India Limited; however, IndianAutosBlog reports that you can book the new Elantra for a deposit for Rs. 25,000.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra will be offered with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, automatic climate control, and start/stop button.
On the design front, the new Elantra is sporty and sharper looking and shows off a bold hexagonal grille in chrome, flanked by a pair of swept-back headlights.
Concerning engine configurations, the India-spec Elantra will get 2.0-litre MPI four-cylinder petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine is expected to produce 148bhp; whereas, the diesel power output is expected to be 136bhp. Both engines will be available in a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
We expect Hyundai to price the 2016 Elantra in the range of Rs. 13 - 17 lakh, and will compete against the likes of the Toyota Corolla Altis, Chevrolet Cruze, Skoda Octavia, and Volkswagen Jetta.
