Sales Of Hybrid Cars — Toyota And Lexus Achieve 45 Percent Growth In Europe
As
the
hybrid
cars
take
centre
stage
in
automobile
markets
worldwide,
Toyota
Motor
Europe
has
achieved
immense
growth
in
terms
of
sales
in
Europe.
Speaking of the numbers, there is a growth of 45 percent in sales of hybrid cars compared to last year. The Toyota Prius which was sold till August played a major role in this growth. Total 12,000 units of Prius were sold this year. The hybrid variants of the Auris and RAV4 were also among the top selling hybrid cars.
Lexus hybrid car sales represent 61 percent of sales in Europe, this figures has raised to 98 percent in Western Europe.
Executive Vice President, Toyota Motor Europe, Karl Schlicht said that the firm is on track to sell more than 3,00,000 hybrid cars by the end of this year.
Toyota and Lexus combined together estimates to sell more than 9,00,000 cars in Greater Europe in 2016, with one-third of those cars will be hybrid. Toyota and Lexus will unveil three more hybrid models - the C-HR Hybrid, new Prius Plug-In Hybrid and Lexus LC 500h Coupe at 2016 Paris Motor Show.
