Honda City: Over 1.6 Lakh Units Sold Since launch
The current version of the Honda city has sold over 1.6 Lakh units since its launch in January 2014. The numbers reassure its top position in the c-segment car market in India. Credit goes to the diesel engine, which has helped the car manufacturer to increase its overall car sales in the country.
The current generation Honda City is offered in 12 variants, where the consumer has an option to choose between a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces a good 117bhp and 145Nm torque, while the diesel engine has an output of 98bhp and 200Nm torque.
The CVT auto gearbox will be optionally available with the 1.5 petrol variant, while the diesel variant sports the 5-speed manual gearbox only.
Since its launch in 2014, Honda has sold 1,60,240 units in India. The vehicle has had a price hike of Rs. 18,000 in the past 2 years. In the Indian C-segment car market, the only cars competing with the Honda City are the Ciaz and Verna.
