Japanese auto maker's subsidiary in India, Honda Car India Ltd. registered its highest monthly retail sales during the month of October 2016. Honda sold 20,000 units of vehicles for this festive period.
Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, President, and CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said that the strong demand during the festival period had led the company to the highest monthly retail sales of 2016 in October.
He added that due to increased car purchases in Navratra, Dhanteras, and Diwali, the customers took deliveries of more than 20,000 cars.
On the domestic front, Honda sold 15,567 units exports contributed 289 units in October 2016.
The highest sales came from none other than the Honda City with sales of 6,378 units followed by 4,009 units of its compact sedan, Amaze.
Not far behind was the Jazz selling 3,011 units for the month of October 2016. Honda though registered moderate sales with the Brio and Mobilio by selling 535 and 498 units respectively.
Honda's newly launched Accord hybrid sold 25 units in its first month of sales in October 2016. Models such as BR-V and CR-V sold 1,070 and 41 units respectively.
