Honda City Sedan To Be Updated In 2017 For Indian Market
Honda Cars India provided its City sedan with an update during early 2014. It was the fourth iteration of the popular sedan in the Indian market. The Japanese automobile manufacturer is facing tough competition in several markets and to keep customers interested in their offering, will have to update its City.
Now, Honda officials plan on introducing an all-new City sedan by 2017. The updates will be minor cosmetic changes to the exterior design of the Honda City. The interior of the sedan is expected to get more premium and upmarket compared to its already class-leading cabin quality.
The front and rear bumpers will be redesigned for the 2017 Honda City. Several new exterior colour options could also be introduced to lure younger buyers. The headlights and taillights will also receive an update, along with LED DRLs as standard equipment.
The selling point of Honda City is its robust and miles crunching engine. Honda will continue using the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine, which is mated to a manual as well as an automatic transmission. Engineers could tune the engine for more performance as well as better fuel efficiency.
Every five years Honda completely redesigns its products. The City sedan is expected to receive a complete design overhaul back in 2019. To keep customers interested in their product, Honda will introduce a mild update for 2017 with a minor price hike as well.
