One look at the dashboard gives you the impression of good quality finish. The straight lines and the piano finish around the infotainment system are top notch. The interiors give a modern feel yet roomier.

The infotainment system and the dashboard seem to have borrowed from the Honda City and the Jazz design engineering, the music system is slightly tilted towards the driver for ease of use. Honda shows they have worked on the drawing board in regards to the interiors of the compact SUV.

Even though it stands on the Brio, Amaze or the Mobilio platform, the interiors are from the Honda City and Jazz, this shows that Honda wants a premium touch to its compact SUV.

The faux-leather finish of the gear stick to the side door panels, Honda has thought it well before it can introduce it to the Indian customers.

The compact SUV from Honda resembles the CR-V, you might even mistake it for the bigger sibling on the photo, however, this is a smaller version of the same.

BR-V's front fascia sports a twin slat front grille, with a really big chrome strip running through the front grille and the Honda symbol striking its pose elegantly.

The headlamp comes with projector lens and chrome rings for the fog lamps which sits on the bumper. Body cladding runs across the SUV and its sports front and rear skid plates to give the SUV look. The radiator gets its air flow through the honeycombed air-dams which are on the front grille and below on the bumper as well.

As for the rear view of the SUV, Honda has integrated the both the taillamps with a red reflector line which runs across the tailgate. One good aspect is the tail lamp which is split through the tailgate works and it is not just a reflector.

On the side profile of the Honda compact SUV, it looks very familiar to the Mobilio but shortened to give the SUV stance.

Honda BR-V Specifications Overview

Honda will power the BR-V with their 1.5 iVTEC petrol engine which will be mated to a 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox. As for the diesel variant, it will be powered by 1.5 iDTEC engine mated to 6-speed gearbox. A CVT on the diesel could be part of its future plans.

The Honda BR-V will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, and Nissan Terrano. However, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza could give it a good competition.

Honda BR-V will be priced in the bracket of Rs. 8 to Rs. 12 lakh ex-showroom, time will tell if Honda will position it with the Creta and Duster or will it be a good proposition when compared to the EcoSport or the Vitara Brezza. The compact SUV is expected to be launched on May 1, 2016.
