Honda BR-V Bookings Cross 4000 Units; Deliveries Soon
Honda has received more than 4000 units booking for the newly launched BR-V compact SUV. The current booking amount is Rs. 21,000.
The compact SUV from the Japanese automobile manufacturer was launched on May 6, 2016 with starting price tag of Rs. 8.75 lakhs ex-showroom (Mumbai) and has pre-booked the SUV, and deliveries are expected soon.
The Honda BR-V is a compact SUV which rivals the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster, it is the only SUV in this segment with a 7-seater layout. Also, the automatic gearbox model will come with paddle shifters as well, which is available in the petrol variant only, there is not confirmation on the automatic gearbox for the diesel variant as of now.
The platform of the Honda BR-V is based on the Brio, Amaze or the Mobilio and uses the same engine specs from the Mobilio, but slightly tuned to power the SUV.
The Honda BR-V is powered by 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 117bhp and 140Nm of torque and returns a mileage of 15.4km/l for the manual gearbox and 16km/l from the automatic gearbox. As for the diesel engine, it churns out 98bhp and 200Nm of torque and a mileage of 21.9 km/l.
Apart from the Honda BR-V, Honda is planning a facelift to the Mobilio and is expanding its production in the Tapukar plant in Rajasthan to meet the demand for Amaze and Jazz. The company is investing around 380 crores at this plant to raise the capacity to 3 lakh units a year.
