Honda BR-V First Month Indian Sales Not As Expected
Honda Cars India launched the BR-V compact SUV during May 2016. Unfortunately, a month has passed by and sales figures for the BR-V are in. In the very first month, Honda dealers managed to sell only 2,344 units of the BR-V.
Base variant of the Honda BR-V costs Rs. 8.7 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Surprisingly, Mobilio managed better first-month sales compared to the BR-V. At this moment, Honda India confirms that they have received an overwhelming response and registered over 9,000 BR-V orders.
In total, Honda's domestic sales were 9,954 units during May 2016. Exports from India stood at 651 units. The Honda City sedan was their best-seller, while the CR-V managed to sell only 69 units. Overall, Honda India managed to sell 13,431 units in May 2015.
The Honda BR-V compact SUV faces tough competition in the Indian market. Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport, and Mahindra TUV3OO have done exceptionally well during May 2016, in terms of sales.
