Honda BR-V Could Launch On 5th May
According to a few reports, Japanese carmaker Honda is getting ready to launch the BR-V in India on May 5, 2016. The BR-V was first unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo that was held in Noida.
The Honda BR-V is a seven seater SUV based on the Mobilio, but has a taller stance. Once launched, the Honda BR-V will compete with the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Duster in the Indian market.
The Honda BR-V will be be powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine that powers the rest of the Honda portfolio in India. The engines will produce 117bhp and 98bhp respectively. Both engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and Honda could offer an automatic transmission as well.
The BR-V will feature projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, alloy wheels, roof rails, and similar interiors to the Honda City sedan, including the multi-functional steering wheel and the HVAC controls.
When launched, expect the Honda BR-V to be priced under Rs. 10 lakh, and if Honda gets it right, it could be the next best-seller in India in the segment. Stay tuned to DriveSpark for more updates.
