Honda Experiences Overwhelming Response For Newly Launched Model
Honda Cars India launched the all-new compact SUV in the country during May 2016. The BR-V was previously showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Now, the Japanese-based car manufacturer confirms that they have witnessed an overwhelming response for the BR-V.
Since the BR-V was launched in India, Honda has registered over 11,000 bookings. Honda never expected so many orders in such a short span of time. The BR-V is offered with both a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol as well as 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine option.
The BR-V is based on the same platform that is used by the Brio, Amaze, and Mobilio models. In reality, Honda received criticism that the BR-V is not a compact SUV and looks more like a Mobilio update. Customers have, however, taken a liking to the BR-V, which can be noticed in the bookings.
The base variant of Honda BR-V is priced at Rs. 8.75 lakh, while the top-most variant costs Rs. 12.90 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Slowly yet steadily, the sales of the BR-V is improving in the Indian market. It still faces tough competition from the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, and Mahindra TUV3OO.
