Honda To Launch Accord Hybrid In India During October, Bookings Now Open
Honda Cars India will be reintroducing its premium sedan offering in the country. The Accord Hybrid is expected to launch sometime during October 2016, in India. As of now, select Honda dealerships have commenced bookings for Accord Hybrid.
Customers can book the Accord Hybrid at a token amount of Rs. 51,000. So far, the cost of the 2016 Honda Accord Hybrid has not been revealed. We expect the base variant of this premium sedan from Honda to cost Rs. 22 lakh and top-end variant to be priced at Rs. 26 lakh ex-showroom.
Under the hood of the Accord Hybrid will be a 2.0-litre petrol engine, assisted by an electric motor. The petrol engine produces 141bhp, while the electric motor adds another 75bhp. Overall torque of the engine stands at 306Nm and the engine will be mated to CVT gearbox.
The 9th Gen Honda Accord Hybrid was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. This model has been on sale in international markets for a while now.
Currently, Honda Cars India will be offering the Accord Hybrid as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) as the model is not expected to be a volume driver.
