Hennessey Velociraptor 6x6 Roars Into Life — Should AMG Be Worried?
American tuning house Hennessey is at it again and this time they've turned the humble F150 pickup truck into something a certain Richard Hammond would love to get his hamster paws on.
Hennessey's creation is a six-wheel-drive off-roading menace called the Velociraptor 6x6 and prices for 6x6 maniac start at $295,000 (Rs. 1.96 Crore).
The 6x6 started life as a normal Ford F150 Raptor and then Hennessey added an additional axle at the rear and modified the aluminium bed so it could fit another set of wheels.
The tuners then added locking rear axles, off-roading suspension setup and humongous 20-inch wheels along with some fat off-road tires.
Also new are the front and rear bumpers, roll bar and those big LED lights that sit on top of the roof.
For an extra $22,500 (Rs. 14.97 lakh) Hennessey will add a twin-turbo kit to the V8 engine that will send power screaming above the 600 horsepower barrier.
The Velociraptor 6x6 only has one major competitor, the Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6 which cost almost $135,000 (Rs. 89.91 lakh) more and is already sold out.
Also rivalling the new Hennessey 6x6 is the Brabus tuned version of G63 AMG 6x6> However you need the aforementioned six-wheeled Merc for the BRabus excess to be added on.
So what do like, the crazyVelociraptor or the Americans trying to make a Bentley Bentayga stealthy.
