Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen have been confirmed by Haas F1 Team for 2017 Championship. Esteban Gutierrez will be leaving the team at the end of current season.
Haas F1 Team had promised to confirm its driver line-up for 2017 season before the current Championship comes to an end. It is now confirmed that Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean have been appointed by the American-based Formula One team.
Esteban Gutierrez will be making way for Kevin Magnussen at Haas F1 Team. So far, it seems like Gutierrez will be left without a Formula One drive for 2017 season. Haas F1 Team is grateful to Esteban Gutierrez's service provided in their debut season.
Gene Haas, Founder and Chairman of Haas F1 Team admits that Magnussen was on their short list from the beginning. He believes that Magnussen as great potential and will perform exceptionally well for Haas F1 Team.
Kevin Magnussen has previously driven for McLaren in his debut year. He followed it up with a hiatus and returned to join Renault F1 Team. Unfortunately, his tenure with the French-based manufacturer was disappointing, to say the least.
Haas F1 Team uses Ferrari powered engine and has scored 29 points in 2016 Formula One Championship. Unfortunately, Renault F1 Team managed to only score eight points. Kevin Magnussen seems to have made the logical choice to jump ship for a competitive package.
