Google owned real time traffic app, Waze has collaborated with transportation data firm INRIX to help drivers to find parking spots near their destination.
Waze had recently introduced ‘where to park' feature, which will display closest parking lots to the destination and users can navigate to that spot. Now with this collaboration this feature will get a boost, due to INRIX's unique parking data.
Head of Business Development Waze, Flavia Sasaki Siqueira said that the firm will integrate INRIX parking data with its own database to improve the accuracy of ‘where to park' feature, which will improve users driving experience.
INRIX gathers real-time road traffic information from different sources, it also provides parking information to major automakers such as, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Lexus, Toyota and Volkswagen.
INRIX uses various data sources to assess where the parking is available, it also takes pricing into account to give a broader picture to its user. This feature will definitely be a boon for city commuters.
