Avail 0.75 Percent Discount On Fuel Starting Today Through Digital Payments
Starting today, avail 0.75 prcent discount on petrol and diesel when payment is made digitally.
The government recently announced that customers will soon be entitled to discounts if they chose to make digital payments. The day has finally come and starting today, customers chosing to pay digitally will avail 0.75 percent discount on petrol and diesel.
Last Thursday, the government directed state-run oil companies to offer 0.75 percent discount on petrol and diesel to customers paying digitally, either through cards or digital wallets.
The move was intended to encourage people to start making digital payments, specially after the recent demonitisation.
When paid digitally, the state-run oild companies will refund the 0.75 percent discount through ‘cash back' facility that will be credited to the customer's account within three working days.
Oil companies decided on the ‘cash back' route after four days of talks with banks and digital wallet companies. Discounts on fuel is one of the many incentives offered by the Indian government to persuade people to start making digital transactions.
