From Model “A” to Model “E”, Is Ford Setting Up Electric-Car Production?
oi-Vishnu
Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk revealed that Ford Motor Company was blocking his company from using the name 'Model E' for its small sedan, which was later called the Model 3.
Ford had registered the name just one year prior at the United States Patent and Trademarks office. According to Automotive News, Ford is planning to make new electric cars and will use the name Model E.
Automotive News claims that the Model E will feature multiple body styles.
The CEO of Ford, Mark Fields confirms that the Model E will have 300Kms range on a fully charged electric car and it will target the Chevrolet Bolt EV and the Tesla Model 3.
The Model E is expected to be manufactured in Mexico for the North American markets. The Model E could share the same platform as the next generation C-Max and the Ford Focus.
