Ford has unveiled the iconic Mustang in India, prior to the 2016 Auto Expo. The Ford Mustang has been in production since 1965 and this is the first time the brand is setting foot in India. The car will be sold as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in India, and will go on sale from the second quarter of 2016.

The Ford Mustang can be expected to be priced between Rs. 50 to 60 lakh.
Engine & Gearbox
The Ford Mustang will be sold with a 5.0-litre, naturally aspirated V8 engine that produces 420bhp and 529Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, with paddle shifters. Internationally, the Ford Mustang is sold with a 3.7-litre V6 engine and a 2.3-litre turbocharged engine, which won't make its way to India.
Also, this is the first ever Ford Mustang that is built with a right-hand drive.
The Ford Mustang will feature HID headlamps, LED tail lamps, sequential turn signals, dual exhaust pipes, leather upholstery, steering mounted controls, auto dimming rear view mirror, 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, and push button start.The Mustang also comes with something called 'Electronic Line-Lock', which engages the front brakes and releases the rear brake, which helps the driver spin the rear wheels for 15 seconds.
The Ford Mustang also features four driving modes: Normal, Wet/Snow, Sport, and Track.
In terms of safety, the Ford Mustang will have automatic headlamps and wipers, individual tyre pressure monitoring system, dual airbags in the front with knee and curtain airbags.
