Ford Begins Export Of Figo To Europe Under The Badge KA+
Ford India has begun the exports of the 'Made in India' Figo to Europe. The compact hatchback Figo will be re-badged as KA+ and sold in Europe.
The Figo which is manufactured at the Sanand plant in Gujarat will ship the KA+ to Europe. Ford has invested $1 Billion in the plant with an aim for exporting cars from India. Currently, the American car manufacturer exports from India to 40 different countries.
Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, marketing, sales, and service, Ford India said, "The exports of Ford KA+ (Next Gen Figo) to Europe, from our Sanand plant, strengthen our commitment to making in India, for India and the world."
Ford exported 10,285 units in the month June alone, a 197.94 percent phenomenal growth rate for the company. However, in the domestic market, the Figo is witnessing lower sales which was much lesser than what it has exported.
In Europe, the price of the KA+ starts from 9,990 euros (Rs. 7.46 lakh) in countries like Germany, Belgium, and Spain. In the UK though it will be dearer, costing 8,990 pounds sterling (Rs. 7.96 lakh).
