Ford Will Not Drop Figo From Aspire Compact Sedan Badge Name
Rumours have been doing rounds that Ford India plans to drop the Figo name from its Figo Aspire model. The American-based manufacturer would differentiate the Figo as a hatchback and the Aspire as their compact sedan offering.
It is now confirmed that Ford India will not be dropping the Figo Aspire name. They will, however, emphasise more on the Aspire title when referring to the compact sedan. Reason for maintaining the Figo Aspire name is to indicate that the compact sedan is derived from the hatchback.
Both Figo and Figo Aspire receive two petrol and a single diesel engine option. Petrol powered 1.2-litre engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and the 1.5-litre engine is mated to 6-speed dual clutch automatic. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Ford India is witnessing positive and good response for Figo and Figo Aspire models. All models in Ford's current lineup have been doing exceptionally well. Stay tuned for more updates and exclusive stories in the automotive industry.
