New Ford Figo Owners – Pass The Message on – Your Cars Are Being Recalled

By Ajinkya

Ford India will be issuing a recall of their Figo hatchback and Figo Aspire compact sedan. The reason for the recall is a software issue related to the airbags. Approximately 40,000 or more of the hatchback and compact sedan will be recalled for rectification.

The American-based automobile manufacturer has asked dealerships to put on hold deliveries as well as test drives. Ford India is gearing up for the rectification in both models. Being a software issue the problem should not take more than a couple hours to be solved.

New software is being provided to dealerships and service centres across the country as we speak. Ford India will make sure to personally inform its customers and ask them to come and rectify the issue. No additional cost will be incurred by the owner for the software update.

Currently, India does not have a mandatory recall policy for automobile manufacturers. Very soon the Indian Government plans on introducing a policy, where manufacturers would have to inform its customers on all defects when found out.

Both Figo and Figo Aspire models are equipped with dual front airbags from the base variant. Ford India is banking heavily on the hatchback and compact sedan to boost sales. The American-based manufacturer launched both models during 2015 in India.
