The Ford EcoSport is one of the best-selling SUVs in India currently. The American manufacturer is facing heat from the recently launched Maruti Vitara Brezza.
Ford went on to slash the prices of the EcoSport to counter the competition from the Vitara Brezza by Rs. 1.12 lakh.
To make it even more lucrative, Ford has equipped the EcoSport with dual front airbags as standard across the variants. Maruti offers the dual airbags as optional, however, the EcoSport comes with standard fitment.
The top end variant comes with six airbags and features ABS with EBD, making the EcoSport loaded with safety features. The surprising fact is that the EcoSport is only SUV with standard dual airbags in India.
Apart from the upgrade on the safety feature, the powertrain remains the same. The Ford EcoSport comes with two different petrol engines and a single diesel unit. The petrol units include a 1.5-litre and 1.0-litre booster jet engine, churning out 108bhp and 121bhp respectively.
The diesel unit which is 1.5-litre which punches out 97bhp and 205Nm of torque. Ford has priced the EcoSport in the range of Rs. 6.76 lakh to Rs. 9.93 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
