Ford has announced that the facelifted version of the EcoSport is all geared up to launch in January 2017.

The EcoSport is the best selling product for Ford in the country. The compact SUV was first launched in 2013 and has been a performer in the Indian market.

The Ford EcoSport is also sold in the global markets too. The new facelifted model will be also launched in the US market.

The India-spec facelifted EcoSport will feature exterior and feature upgrades, apart from that the mechanical components will be identical to the current model.

The 2017 facelifted EcoSport will feature revised headlamp cluster, slightly redesigned front grille, revamped rear bumper and new taillights. The overall design will sport an aggressive look.

The interior of the new Ecosport has been upgraded with eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC3 OS for smartphone connectivity. The other features include parking sensors, reverse camera and sound system from Bang and Olufsen.

The 2017 EcoSport will be powered by the existing 1.5-litre diesel and 1.5-litre petrol engine. The diesel motor produces 100bhp and 205Nm of torque, whereas the petrol engine churns out 110bhp and 140Nm of torque.

Both the variants are expected to be equipped with five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The facelifted EcoSport is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. When launched the refreshed compact SUV will rival the likes of Renault Duster and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
