Force India & Aston Martin Partnership A Future Possibility
Force India was rumoured to have a new partner for their 2016 Formula One campaign. Aston martin was supposed to team up with the Indian-owned team. Unfortunately, talks fell apart and the deal was called off midway by Aston Martin and Force India.
The talks between Force India and Aston Martin did not materialise for 2016 Championship. A future possible partnership between the duo has still not been ruled out. Entering Formula One Championship is a prestigious and rewarding experience for any manufacturer.
Formula One is expected to undergo massive rule changes from 2017 onwards. This is one of the main reasons for Aston Martin to decline entering the championship during 2016. Aston Martin would like to wait and see what the new rules are and if they will be advantageous for their growth.
Otmar Szafnauer, Chief Operating officer, Force India, believes that once the rules changes are confirmed talks would naturally progress. Aston Martin has witnessed success in FIA World Endurance and Le Mans Championship. If they plan on entering Formula One they would like to replicate their success.
Aston Martin entering the Formula One Championship will not only boost Force India, it will also have a positive effect on F1. Currently, Force India is a mid-pack running team with Aston Martin's boost they could be among the top runners and even title contenders.
