Fiat Tipo Unveiled At The 2016 Geneva Motor Show
Fiat unveiled the premium Tipo hatchback and the estate variant at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show which being held in Geneva, Switzerland.
From the look of it, it seems to be a good fit for the Indian market, if Fiat brings this car, it could rival the premium segment of hatchbacks like Maruti Suzuki's Baleno and Hyundai i20.
The capacity of the Tipo is made up of two power plants; the diesel at 1.3 litre powered by 94bhp and 200Nm of torque; and 1.6 litre units which pushes out 118bhp and 320Nm of torque.
The petrol engines have three units, a 1.4 litre producing 94bhp at 125Nm of torque; 1.6 litre 108bhp and 203Nm of torque. A turbocharged 1.4 litre engine producing 118bhp and 206Nm of torque.
The 1.6 litre diesel engine gets a dual clutch transmission, and an automatic for the 1.6 litre, 108bhp petrol engine.
The entry-level variant has air-conditioning, remote central locking, electric front window - and the estate gets it for the rear window too - electric mirrors, a DAB (Digital audio broadcasting) radio and Bluetooth connectivity.
As for the Indian market, Fiat could bring in a toned down version to compete with the Baleno and i20. The pricing of the car is still not confirmed for the European market.
