Fiat India Planning Punto First Generation Comeback
Fiat India updated the Grande Punto into the Punto Evo hatchback. Now, the manufacturer is planning on selling both models side by side to its customers. The comeback model is most likely to be named Punto Pure in the Indian market.
A major reason for the first generation India Punto making a comeback is stock. Fiat India updated their hatchback and the demand shifted towards the new model while previous models remained unsold. Punto Pure will most likely be a stock clearing effort by Fiat India.
The Punto along with other Fiat products are known for their Italian heritage and robust built quality. Now, corners are cut in the making of Fiat products in India as well as in global markets. The design of first gen India Punto was more subtle and soothing, however, the new Punto is more sporty and aggressive and appeals to more customers.
Punto Pure will be offered with a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine and a 1.4-litre petrol engine. Fiat India will be pairing both engines with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Punto Pure is most likely to be sold in three variants Active, Dynamic, and Emotion.
Since the previous generation, Punto was last manufactured in 2014, we expect jaw-dropping pricing. There is also a possibility that the Punto Pure could receive an updated interior, just like the Punto Evo. Stay tuned for more updates on Fiat's strategy with the Punto Pure hatchback.
