The German Driver qualified slowest in Q1 session of Singapore GP in Marina Bay street circuit after suffering suspension failure. Ferrari had spotted this problem but was unable to fix the suspension before the qualifying session. Vettel said that it was a mechanical failure on the rear suspension.
Ferrari President Sergio Marchionne recently stated that they had moved their focus to 2017 season as Scuderia has badly failed to meet its targets this season. Ferrari is playing a catch-up game in the championship, as its is 15 points adrift Red Bull for second place.
But Vettel is still optimistic about this season, he said that there are still new parts to come this year and team is not giving up on this season this early. There are six races left in this season and Ferrari wants to make most out of it to secure the second position in the constructor's championship.
