Ferrari’s LaFerrari Sold At An Unbelievable Price
LaFerrari means "The Ferrari" and in that sense, it is the definitive Ferrari and was built with limited production of 499 units. The LaFerrari is a hybrid sports car and was built not with the assistance of Pininfarina which makes it the first Ferrari without any Pininfarina design language.
With the high profile backing, the LaFerrari costs more than $1 million; it is one of the cars for a collector in their list. Now a deadly looking black Ferrari LaFerrari with only 340kms on the meter was auctioned.
A cool $4.7 million was the selling price of the LaFerrari at the Mecum planned auction, it not only superseded the expectation of Mecum which was in the range of $3.9-$4.5 million. This propels this LaFerrari as the most expensive sold till date.
To talk about the LaFerrari, which is the first mild hybrid from Ferrari. The engine which is mid-mounted is a V12 with 6.3-litre punching out 789bhp of power and 700Nm of peak torque. This engine is supplemented with 161bhp KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) which provides short bursts of extra power, the power is sent to the rear wheel through the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox.
Other mentions of the LaFerrari include carbon-ceramic Brembo discs for the front and rear wheels. As for its performance, LaFerrari can sprint from 0-100kmph in less than 3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 350kmph.
