DHL Will Sell Zero Emission Delivery Van In Starting In 2017
oi-Vishnu
Deutsche Post (DHL), one of the world's largest parcel delivery service, is now planning to market its electric delivery van called the "Streetscooter".
DHL initially developed the Streetscooter, which is actually a four-wheel electric van, for the purpose of delivering mails and parcels.
DHL opted to develop an EV since the maintenance cost and emission rate is a major disadvantage on the convetional engines. After all, electricity is still cheaper than the diesel.
The Streetscooter will have a range of 120Kms, which is ample for short distance urban deliveries.
The company says the electric delivery van will slash the maintenance costs by 50% and repair costs by up to 80%.
