Datsun redi-GO Variants Explained; Which One Is Your Choice?

Datsun redi-GO is a small hatchback car which falls under the entry level cars in India. The redi-GO will take on the likes of Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.

The redi-GO is launched in the price bracket of Rs. 2.38 lakh to Rs. 3.34 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) and will come in five variants - D, A, T, T(O) and S. Let us go through the variants in detail.

Datsun redi-GO: Variants In Detail

Datsun has powered the redi-GO with an 800cc petrol engine, which develops 53bhp and 72Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and ARAI certified mileage of 25.17 kmpl.

D - Rs. 2.38 Lakh

The base variant of the redi-GO commands the value of the starting price tag, feature wise not much is offered. The 'D' variant of the redi-GO comes with driver side ORVM, steel wheel rims, centre caps for the wheels, headlamp leveller, sun visor for driver side only, no AC only heater and ventilator and nothing in terms of safety features.

A - Rs. 2.82 Lakh

The second variant of the redi-GO which is approximately Rs. 42,000 pricier than the base variant will get you body coloured bumpers, ORVMs on both driver and co-driver side, blacked out B-Pillar, chrome accents for the front grille, silver decoration for the headlamps, and green glass for the windshield.

Inside this variant, the sun visor is seen on both the driver and co-driver side, 12V charging port, a lid for the glove box, better fabric seat covers, AC, tachometer, folding rear seat, utility spaces in the centre console, on the safety front you get the engine immobilizer.

T - Rs. 3.09 Lakh

The 'T' is the mid variant of the Datsun redi-GO, which is approximately Rs. 24,000 higher compared to the 'A' variant. On the exterior, apart from what the 'A' variant gets, this variant gets black wheels with a full wheel cover.

Inside the 'T' variant is the silver insert on the 3-spoke steering wheel, silver painted AC vents and the centre console is finished off in piano black. This variant will get the power steering, assist grips for all the passengers, front two speakers, and mobile docking station.

T (O) - Rs. 3.19 Lakh

This is an optional variant of the 'T' variant, which gets the antenna, audio system with CD, radio, USB, AUX and MP3 player. However, we don't see any safety upgrades on this variant.

S - Rs. 3.34 Lakh

The top most variant of the redi-GO features body coloured door handles, and driver side airbag, which at an approximately Rs. 15,000 upgrade from the T(O) variant.

The Datsun redi-GO is indeed cheaper compared to its competitors, however, the features are as per pricing and you don't see much of those luxury features like fog lamps, touch-screen infotainment system, trip meter, Bluetooth connectivity, spoiler, remote keyless entry with central locking, gear shift indicator.

If the above missing features do not fall under your requirement and you are looking for your first car for a good budget, the Datsun redi-GO might be your choice.
