Datsun Reveals Sketches Of Production Ready Redi-Go For India
Datsun has been revealing its upcoming compact hatchback the Redi-Go part by part. The Japanese-based manufacturer has now revealed the production-ready model sketches. Redi-Go is being launched in the Indian market on April 14, 2016, and the manufacturer is promoting its model via the #ISayYes campaign.
The Redi-Go by Datsun was unveiled at as a concept model at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. Datsun India will be utilising the CMF-A platform to develop their all-new small car. CMF-A platform is developed by Renault-Nissan Alliance and is used by the Renault Kwid as well.
Under the hood of Datsun Redi-Go will be the same engine that powers the Renault Kwid. An 800cc inline, three-cylinder, petrol engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine will produce 53.2bhp and 72Nm of peak torque, with power being fed to the rear wheels.
In all Datsun will have three models in the Indian market. Currently, the Go hatchback, Go+ compact station wagon, and the all-new Redi-Go will be sold in India. There is a high possibility that Datsun could export the Redi-Go to several international markets as well.
In terms of pricing, the Redi-Go will be the most affordable model available in India. Datsun is most likely to price the Redi-Go from a base price of Rs. 2.5 lakh ex-showroom. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the launch of Redi-Go in India.
