Datsun Becomes India's Fastest Growing Car Brand
Datsun recorded 188 percent increase in sales this year, and has also emerged as the fastest growing car brand in India. A total of 4,297 new cars were sold by the company during last month, and the Datsun redi-GO has seen very good response.
Arun Malhotra, the Managing Director of Nissan India said, "This unprecedented growth of the Datsun brand is due to the phenomenal response Datsun redi-GO is getting from people across the country. In just 23 days since its launch, close to 3,000 units of redi-GO have been sold. These are exciting times for Datsun and we look forward to delivering more cars to our customers."
The Datsun redi-GO, the brand's first entry-level hatchback made its debut in India recently. The redi-GO is termed the 'urban cross' vehicle, owing to its high ground clearance and unique styling.

Built on the same platform as the Renault Kwid, the redi-GO also features the same engine as the Kwid, a 800cc, three-cylinder motor that produces 53bhp and 72Nm of torque. The front-wheel drive hachback's engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and return a mileage of 25km/l.
The Datsun redi-GO is priced at Rs. 2.39 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi) onward.
