Ducati and the new XDiavel took part in the 76th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the largest motorcycle rally in the US and a renowned cruiser event. The ride took place from August 5, to 14, 2016, from South Dakota, USA.
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which dates its origin back to 1938, sees over half a million bikers from around the globe participate, to share and celebrate their passion for motorcycling.
The 76th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was Ducati's first participation, and for this iconic event, Ducati brought the new XDiavel along. The route and the hills surrounding Sturgis is home for some of the best motorcycling routes in the world.
The Diavel brings the right mix — a powerful, low end torque motor, forward placed foot controls, and the unmistakable Italian styling. The Ducati XDiavel recently won the Red Dot Design Award in 2016, and also has an american touch in terms of design, thanks to Roland Sands.
Roland Sands, together with Ducati, presented his own design take on the Italian cruiser in Sturgis.
The concept motorcycle built by the famous bike builder, Roland Sands features a one-piece body fixed to the Ducati trellis frame, 19-inch wheels, and a collection of billet aluminum details, that give the already sporty cruiser a unique sense of sportiness, while maintaining the motorcycle's DNA.
In addition to the one-off motorcycle, Sands also created a special range of accessories and components, that is featured in the Ducati Performance Catalogue. The accessories and components are available at Ducati dealerships.
