Fake Doctor Who Stole Audi SUV Worth Rs. 40 Lakh Finally Nabbed
Conman is a serial carjacker who is a wanted man in seven different states.
A conman who posed as a doctor in Hyderabad and stole an Audi SUV worth Rs. 40 lakh from a second hand dealership during a test drive has been nabbed by the police.
The accused, identified as S Venkata Ramana, is a wanted man with 23 cases currently registered against him in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Ramana also has six non-bailable warrants pending against him.
When questioned by the police, Ramana revealed that he was habitual carjacker and had stolen over 40 cars. The conman has earlier escaped twice from police custody while being escorted to the courts for his hearings.
The accused came under the scanner of the Hyderabad police after he stole an Audi Q3 said to be worth around Rs. 40 lakh from a second hand car dealership in the city.
Posing as Doctor Gautham Reddy from the nearby Apollo hospital, Ramana managed to get a test drive of the Audi SUV.
Upon reaching the hospital, Ramana asked the dealership employee to get off the car as he wanted to show off the car to his ‘colleagues ‘.
When the dealership employee complied, Ramana drove inside the hospital premises and escaped with the SUV.
The modus operandi of posing as a doctor was something that Ramana used quite often with his other trick being posing as the son or relative of prominent political people.
