Delhi Government To Revoke The Ban On CNG Conversion For Cars
oi-Abijith Vilangil
Delhi Transport Minister Satyendar Jain announced that the government will revoke its ban on the retrofitting of CNG kits in the upcoming days.
Last week, the transport minister had issued an order banning retrofitting CNG kits in cars due to some equipment manufacturers supplying "uncertified" CNG conversion kits.
"We have registered complaints of deceptive CNG kits being retrofitted in cars, with the Delhi Police, which is now investigating the matter. In one or two days, we will revoke the ban on retrofitting of CNG kits in cars," said the Transport Minister.
When asked about the allegations of "uncertified" CNG fuel kits being retrofitted during the odd-even scheme, the minister disapproved, saying that it was going on for a long time.
The department had earlier asked the Motor Licensing Officers (MLOs) not to register the vehicles fitted with CNG conversion kits till further notice.
