Chevrolet's Sub-4 Meter Sedan, The Essentia Revealed In Its Production Form
The sub-4 meter sedan segment is beginning to be a very competitive segment, and the latest member who will soon join the race to be the best will be Chevrolet. The US based carmaker has revealed the Essentia, the sedan that will compete in the compact sedan segment.
The Essentia first broke cover during the 2016 Auto Expo as a concept, and the carmaker has now revealed the production version of the car.
The new Chevrolet Essentia will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol and diesel engine. Both engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, similar to that of the Chevrolet Beat Activ, which is also yet to be launched.
The Essentia will be part of the 5 new models that will be launched in India by Chevrolet over the next 24 months. The Essentia is expected to be equipped with ABS and airbags even inits basic form, and higher variants could see more safety features.
