Chevrolet To Launch The Beat Activ In India: Details
Chevrolet India has decided to listen to the voices of the general public in the country. The company has decided to scrap the introduction of Spin MPV in the Indian market. The American-based manufacturer will instead divert its focus at launching the Beat Activ as soon as possible.
The Beat Activ was showcased as a concept vehicle at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Chevrolet has realised that there is a demand for soft off-roaders in the Indian market. The crossover model will be based on the Beat hatchback with significant changes.
Under the hood of Beat Activ, Chevrolet is most likely to use the existing engine. No mechanical changes are expected on the crossover. Expect heavy design and exterior updates, which will differentiate the Beat and the Beat Activ from each other.
Apart from Beat Activ, Chevrolet India will focus on soon introducing of the Essentia and new Beat in the market. Chevrolet India will also pay attention to the need of customers in the SUV segment. GM also confirmed that the Indian facility will continue as its global export hub.
Within the next 24 months, Kaher Kazem, GM India President & Managing Director confirms a minimum launch of five new products. These include new Beat, new Trailblazer, new Cruze, Essentia, and Beat Activ models for the Indian market.
