Castrol Has Launched The GTX Eco Engine Oil In India
Castrol has launched its first 'Eco' friendly engine oil from its product range of GTX for diesel vehicles in India. The Castrol GTX ECO technology uses re-refined oil and delivers 10 percent reduction in carbon dioxide when compared to the standard Castrol GTX products.
The Castrol GTX ECO uses the base blend of 50 percent virgin oil and 50 percent re-refined oil. The process goes through rigorous re-refining which includes dewatering, de-fueling, demineralisation, vacuum distillation and distillate treatment.
Castrol GTX additive technology is used later to strengthen the oil to create a high-performance product which helps increase the life of the engine and 10 percent decrease the carbon dioxide produced from the oil's life cycle.
Kedar Apte, Head - Brand and Communications at Castrol India said, "Our team of experts has achieved what was previously thought impossible: to deliver significant CO 2 reductions from the oil's life cycle, while providing the benefits of Castrol GTX Diesel, which helps to extend your engine life by providing 2 times better protection from soot problems**. By re-refining used oil and delivering it as a high-quality product, Castrol GTX ECO delivers CO 2 reductions without compromising on engine performance or protection."
