He was inspired to invent the cruise control when he hitched a ride with his lawyer, who would slow down when he is talking and speed up while listening. The irregular rocking motion annoyed Mr. Teeter and that started his quest to invent the cruise control in cars.
Cruise control in cars is useful for long drives, suited for speed conscious drivers and it also enables you to keep your foot closer to the brake pedal which reduces the total stopping distance.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
The current sensation from Maruti Suzuki, the Vitara Brezza is featured with cruise control on the top-of-the-line ZDi+ variant. The Maruti Brezza is a subcompact SUV powered by the 1.5-litre DDiS 200 diesel unit developing 89bhp and 200Nm of torque.

The Honda City has been in the Indian market for nearly two decades and has brought premium features otherwise not known to India. The sedan has gone on to win some of the best automobile awards in the country.

Known for its sporty image, the Volkswagen Polo features the cruise control technology on all of its avatars - GT, Cross Polo and the standard Polo.

As for the VW Cross Polo, the cruise control is available in both the petrol and the diesel variants. The Volkswagen Polo in all versions is available in both 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.
