Car Sales Reaches 54 Month High In This Festive Season
This festive season has seen the car sales rocket up like anything. Currently, the sales of cars in the country has reached 54 months high in September.
The car models such as Toyota Innova, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Creta, off-road vehicles and utility vehicle sales have hit the all-time high with waiting period across all the models.
According to the report released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the sales of cars in September reached a new high of 1.95 lakh units.
With festivals of Navaratri, Dussehra and Diwali falling in the same month, the rush in the Indian car market has been more than usual.
The officials from top companies stated that they are planning to add extra shifts to their production plan to increase the output.
The sales of passenger vehicle - including cars, SUVs and vans were at 2.78 lakh in September. Recording a growth of 20 percent compared to last year's data.
R S Kalsi, Sales and Marketing Director at Maruti Suzuki said that the demand has been strong in both urban and rural markets. The retail numbers are expected to be strong this month.
According to SIAM, the automobile industry in India will record a double-digit growth this year. With sales figures kicking-up at the end of this year, it is expected to reach new heights in terms of sales figures.
