BMW's iVision Future Interaction Concept Is A Tech Savvy I8 Convertible
BMW has unveiled its vision of the connected car cockpit of the future in the form of the BMW iVision Connected Concept At CES 2016 in Las Vegas.
The iVision Future Interaction Concept in terms of its looks and design is basically a BMW i8 with its roof and doors lopped off, ie: a BMW i8 Spyder with no doors.
However, the iVison Future Concept is all about the tech that comes loaded inside. The instrument cluster has been replaced by a 3-D display and the driver can also get information through a heads up display. The steering wheel also glows to show when the car is in manual mode (blue) or fully autonomous mode (red).
There is also a 21 inch display in front of the passenger. The display retracts to 7 inches when the car is in manual mode to be less of a distraction to the driver. The driver and passenger can control the display with gestures. The display can be used to control almost every aspect of the car.
