The M8 will be a clear rival for the S63 AMG Coupe, but BMW will also offer the 8-Series with a V12.

According to reports, the project is currently underway and the automaker will launch the series by 2018. It will be based on the 7 Series and is said to be priced above the 730Ld Design Pure Excellence.
Rumours also suggests that the 8 Series will become the most expensive BMW on the market when it is launched.
The 8 Series will replace the 6 Series coupe and will compete against the likes of company's arch rival's model, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe.
Just like the S-Class, we can expect the 8-Series to be offered with a selection of engines and numerous configurations.
There are specific details about the engines, but the range-topping M8 is likely to get a 600bhp producing 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 of the upcoming all-wheel-drive M5.
The M8 will be a clear rival for the S63 AMG Coupe, but BMW will also offer the 8-Series with a V12 in a move to match the S65.
